LGBTQ+ people (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer) are at greater risk of developing a mental health disorder and attempting suicide than heterosexual and cisgender people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is due to a much greater number of factors that are harmful to mental health as a result of homophobia and transphobia, such as discrimination in all its forms, rejection by family and friends, bullying or hate-motivated violence. Discrimination is also present within healthcare and psychological services, meaning that those who need support the most do not receive appropriate support. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Through our projects, we aim to (1) help LGBTQ+ people find a suitable mental health professional, (2) share mental health information and personal stories specifically aimed at queer people, and (3) create a safe space and a community where queer people can express themselves freely.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
